Psychiatric Service Dog Training
Specialized PSD training for handlers who need a working partner, not just a pet. Task training, public access preparation, and full behavioral candidacy assessment. Currently accepting new clients.

Private In-Home Training
6 week in-home curriculum.
Starts with a full behavioral intake and builds from there. Not a quick fix. A system that teaches you how to reconnect and communicate better with your dog. -

Board and Train
Your dog lives and trains with us daily for 2-4 weeks. Puppy and adult programs available. Video updates, pickup/dropoff, optional weekends home, and more.

Group Training Sessions
Six weeks, small cohorts, big results.
Our hybrid group cohorts combine 3 live virtual sessions with 3 in-person group sessions held at rotating locations across the DMV — because your dog needs to perform everywhere, not just at home.
Adult programs culminate in the AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluation, Puppy programs include the AKC Puppy S.T.A.R assessment.

Kayla is a certified trainer, Army veteran, graduate student in Applied Animal Behavior, and pursuing CDPT-KA and IAABC- CDBC, working with dogs and their people across the United States, Canada, and UK. Her approach is rooted in how behavior actually works — for dogs and for humans — and every program at SCC is built around that foundation.
Whether you're raising a puppy, navigating a rescue adoption, or preparing a psychiatric service dog, the methodology is the same: understand the nervous system, build the relationship, and the behavior follows.

The Good Dog Guarantee™ Every SCC program includes a Week 1 assessment. If we determine the program isn't the right fit for your dog or your household, the unused portion is refunded. Training should work for both ends of the leash.
